AUS vs AFG: I Won't Play If I Don't Feel Comfortable With My Hamstring: Australia Captain Aaron Finch

Australia captain Aaron Finch believes he has a 70% chance of participating against Afghanistan on Friday night, but he is adamant that he would not jeopardize the team in any way if he is not totally fit, knowing that it could be his final game for Australia.
Both Finch and Tim David had hamstring strains sustained in Australia’s triumph over Ireland.
Australia must defeat Afghanistan in Adelaide on Friday night to increase their chances of making the semi-finals, but they have no idea what will happen in the England-Sri Lanka match on Saturday, which might determine their fate.
Before deciding whether or not to participate, Finch ran on Wednesday and will test his hamstring once more at practice on Thursday.
“I’m probably 70-30, But I’ll put it through its paces this afternoon to make sure I’m not impeding the team’s preparations for the game. That’s the worst-case situation, leaving the lads short by one player,” Finch said before Thursday’s practice.
“If I don’t feel confident in my hamstring”: Aaron Finch
Finch was confident that sentiment would not influence his choice because he had already retired from ODI cricket and had intimated that this T20I tournament would be his final one.
“It won’t make it harder one bit, If I feel like it 1% would be compromising the side’s performance I won’t play,” Finch said.
“If I don’t feel confident in my hamstring, then I won’t play and that might be in the first effort that I do today, it might be in the last one. If I feel any pain or anything like that I won’t play.”
Finch stated that David would undergo the same hamstring fitness test at practice.
“I suppose the scan results showed something extremely similar, He’s in the same boat as me; he’ll work out today.”
“We’ll know more during training about the chances of both of us playing, one of us playing, neither of us playing, whatever that looks like.
“You don’t want to jeopardize the team’s performance by having a player fall down with a niggle. That will be one of the things we go through this afternoon to make sure everything is checked off,” Aaron Finch added.
