Australia, the T20 World Cup’s hosts, is currently concerned about Aaron Finch’s fitness after he suffered a hamstring injury during the match against Ireland on Monday.
Finch regained his form against the Irish side, slamming a 44-ball 63 to lead the Australians to a 42-run victory on Monday and maintain their chances of qualifying.

The opener, though, suffered a right hamstring injury and had to leave the field during Ireland’s chase during the powerplay overs, so it came at a personal cost. For the remainder of the game, Finch stayed in the locker room, and Matthew Wade assumed control as interim captain.

The full degree of Finch’s injury and whether he will be able to participate in the remainder of Australia’s campaign will be known by a scan on Tuesday morning, as per cricket.com.au.
“Little hammy twinge I think”: Aaron Finch
The Australian captain, Aaron Finch, spoke candidly about his history of hamstring issues and expressed great optimism about playing against Afghanistan on Friday.
“Little hammy twinge I think. I’ll get a scan tomorrow. Unfortunately, I’ve had a history with them so we’ll see how it goes,” the opener told the host broadcaster.

Marcus Stoinis and Tim David, who both skipped the Ireland innings on Monday in favour of three substitute fielders, had hamstring issues as well.
Before the team departs for Adelaide, Stoinis and David may be given scans, according to speculation. Initial signs, though, imply that the pair’s absence from the field was more of a precaution than a need.
Australia is yet to pick a vice-captain for the tournament, with Matthew Wade leading the charge in Finch’s absence on Monday.
