Joe Root has issued a caution to England ahead of their T20 World Cup 2022 final match against Pakistan, which is set to take place on Sunday in Melbourne.
With the T20 World Cup 2022 nearing an end, Pakistan will face England in the much-anticipated final on Sunday at the MCG in Melbourne.

One of the greatest games of the year will take place at the historic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Sunday. Both nations will be vying for their second-ever world championship in the game’s shortest format when they square off in the T20 World Cup 2022 final, which will be played between Babar Azam’s Pakistan and Jos Buttler’s England.

Pakistan’s road to the finals has been inspiring. When they defeated their first two Super 12 games, they were completely written off. The game’s experts predicted that Babar & Co will lose the competition. However, the miracle occurred before their final game versus Bangladesh.

The Netherlands shocked South Africa, who were expected to advance easily to the semifinals. Pakistan trounced Bangladesh to advance quickly to the next round, where they overcame New Zealand, while India progressed to the knockout stages.

“They have got some brilliant match-winners”: Joe Root

An important threat to England, who defeated India by 10 wickets in the second semifinal at the Adelaide Oval, is apparent in Pakistan’s unexpected climb. Joe Root considers Babar and his men to be a “very dangerous team” because of their high level of confidence.

“They have got some brilliant match-winners within their team; some brilliant bowling outfits, and some very talented batters. Lot spoke about the two lads at the top (Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan), and how consistent they have been in this format for an extended period,” Root said while speaking on Sky Sports.

“There are some wonderful players in there, so you know they are a very dangerous team, and you gotta make sure that you are right on top of your game when it comes to the big final”,  Joe Root further added.

Both England and Pakistan, who participated in the 50-over World Cup final held here 30 years ago, are coming into the tournament final with dominating victories.
