ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022: 3 Reasons Why Suryakumar Yadav Is Destined To Fail In The World Cup

1. Poor Record In the Last T20 World Cup

Suryakumar Yadav was part of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup last year as well. He played for India in the tournament. However, the right-handed batsman failed to bat well in the tournament. In 3 games, he scored 42 runs.

In a crucial game against Pakistan, Yadav got out without scoring many runs. He scored unbeaten 25 runs in one match. India was ruled out of the tournament after the first round and Yadav could not make many contributions while batting in the middle order.

Out of Suryakumar Yadav’s 34 T20I games, 15 have been on Indian soil. He has played in many countries but has not played a single match on Australian grounds.

ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 will be the first occasion when Yadav will play on Australian grounds. Hence, since he has no experience playing in Australia, he might face issues while batting during the tournament.

3. Less Experience in Playing ICC Tournaments

Suryakumar Yadav is a regular middle-order batsman for the team in ODIs and T20Is. However, the 32-year-old has only played 1 ICC tournament so far, which was T20 World Cup 2021 last year. ICC tournaments are very different from regular bilateral series.

All the top teams compete in ICC tournaments and players face all the most powerful international teams one by one. Hence, since he has less experience playing in ICC tournaments, this might affect his mindset during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022.
