Having just finished the T20 World Cup 2022, former Australian spinner Brad Hogg recently assembled his strongest playing XI. From the England side that won the championship, Hogg chose four men. He also included a player from South Africa, a player from New Zealand, and three Indians.

Brad Hogg chose the two England openers, Jos Buttler and Alex Hales, in a recent Instagram reel. Both athletes significantly contributed to England’s victory at the 2022 T20 World Cup.

They scored 170 runs in an unbroken partnership against India in the semifinal, and the cricket fans are unlikely to forget it. Buttler was also identified by the former spinner as his team’s captain.

Brad Hogg Picks Virat Kohli And Suryakumar Yadav As Middle Order Batters

Next, the former Australian spinner chose Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav, two middle-order hitters for India. Hogg believed that Yadav may increase the run rate with his high strike rate while Kohli could bat throughout the entire inning.

The three all-around players in Hogg’s starting XI were Shadab Khan, Ben Stokes, and Hardik Pandya. In his opinion, Stokes can carry the innings if the top order falls apart.

The 51-year-old explained his choice of Pandya by pointing out that the Indian all-rounder had an excellent strike rate in his last five overs. Additionally, he has the right arm speed to bowl four overs.

To diversify his spin attack, Brad Hogg also chose Mitchell Santner, a left-arm spinner from New Zealand. To round out his starting lineup, the retired cricketer chose three pacers.
