ICC T20 World Cup 2022: Dushmantha Chameera Ruled Out Of Sri Lanka's Group A Decider Against Netherlands

Sri Lanka Cricket Team registered a thumping victory of 79 runs against UAE in the Group A of the Qualifiers Stage. The Island Nation would be thrilled as the team is back to its best. Sri Lanka showed a lot of character and intent which was missing against the Namibia match.

The Lankan bowlers were spot-on with their line and lengths as they never allowed UAE batters to get into the game. Sri Lanka Cricket Team has rediscovered its mojo and once again is looking threatening. It would be interesting to see how the team fares in their decider against the Netherlands.

Dushmantha Chameera Injured

The right-arm speedster has been ruled out of the decider against the Netherlands. The pacer has got the ability to bowl express pace and was quite lethal against UAE. Sri Lanka’s next encounter is a virtual knock-out match. It would be interesting to see whether Binura Fernando gets a chance in the place of Chameera.

Stern Test for Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka will have to be at its best against the Netherlands. The Netherlands is coming back off from two back-to-back victories and is looking in sublime form. On the other hand, the Netherlands would be aware of the fact that Sri Lanka has the wood over the Netherlands as in last year’s qualifiers Sri Lanka had defeated the Netherlands quite easily.

Sri Lanka should not get complacent as we already have seen two upsets in ICC Cricket World Cup 2022. The island nation would want middle-order batters to fire runs as every-time Pathum Nissanka won’t smash a big score every time.  The likes of Asalanka and Rajapaksa need to stick to the crease and play match-winning knocks.
