Hardik Pandya is undoubtedly the key to Team India’s success at the T20 World Cup in Australia. Even though the selectors have announced their final team for the competition, Pandya’s selection was never in doubt because he has consistently been that kind of performer for India, particularly since his comeback to cricket following the IPL 2022.
He led Gujarat Titans to their first trophy in their inaugural season, so perhaps the captaincy experience has done wonders for him.

Perhaps, for this reason, he was immediately selected as India’s captain for the reserve team travelling to Ireland. But a multifaceted Pandya only has one aspect—leadership quality. He has the potential to succeed Rohit Sharma as your captain in white ball cricket, and he is currently India’s most effective T20 bowler.

His batting abilities are also often in demand. Additionally, Sunil Gavaskar, a former cricketer for India, stated one more thing about him. The man is a guns fielder.
Hardik Pandya is like the Ravi Shastri of 1985: Sunil Gavaskar
The illustrious batsman referred to Pandya as India’s “trump card” and said that he was capable of matching what Ravi Shastri did for his nation in Australia during the 1985 Cricket World Cup.

“Yes, I think he could do what Ravi Shastri did in 1985 where Ravi was the outstanding performer with both bat and ball in the entire tournament. Some good catches as well. Hardik Pandya is capable of doing that,” Gavaskar said after the announcement of India’s T20 World Cup squad on Monday.

Gavaskar noted Shastri’s performance at the 1985 World Championship, where the all-around Mumbaikar stood out, scoring 82 runs, including three half-centuries, in just five games of the competition while also claiming eight wickets at an excellent economy rate of 3.32.
