ICC T20 World Cup 2022: "If Jasprit Bumrah Is Not Fit, You Must..." Ex-Selector Ignores Mohammed Shami And Picks IPL Star As Indian Pacer's Replacement for T20 World Cup

Indian Fans would be somewhat joyed after as reports suggest that Jasprit Bumrah’s injury is not that serious. The right-arm pacer is believed to travel with the team for T20 World Cup. Although, the pacer will require time to attain match fitness and it is assumed that he can take part in the last two matches of the league stage.

Indian pace attack would look more lethal with Bumrah in the squad as he can help the youngsters. The management would be carefully monitoring his injury as they don’t want his injury to get worse. It would be interesting to see whether Bumrah would make it up for the matches as making a return after back-to-back injuries won’t be easy.

Saba Karim on Jasprit Bumrah

Saba Karim was seen having an interaction with India News and was asked about Jasprit Bumrah. “If Bumrah is not fit, you must bring Deepak Chahar to the squad because he is on the standby list. You need players who can cope with the pressure of playing in a multi-national tournament. Thus, you have to keep playing the full squad members because it’s tough to say who might get injured. So, it’s good that Arshdeep Singh and Deepak Chahar have got opportunities.”  said Saba Karim.

Mohammed Shami favourite to join Team India

Deepak Chahar is someone who can make the ball swing in the initial stages of the match. But the team already has Bhuvneshwar Kumar who can do the job for a unit. In that case, Shami should be included in the squad as he provides variety to the attack and he can be quite productive at the death overs.

India is not going to play any bilateral cricket after these 2 T20Is against South Africa. The Men in Blue will have to find a combination that suits Australian conditions. Shami has experience of playing in Australia and in the 2015 World Cup, he was quite threatening with his impeccable line & length. The management should show faith in Shami rather than in the youngster as this T20 World Cup is very crucial after last year’s drubbing.
