Notably, Jasprit Bumrah was unable to compete in the multi-nation event due to a back injury he sustained before the Asia Cup 2022.

The BCCI announced in a formal media statement that after careful consideration and consultation with experts, the decision was decided to exclude Bumrah from the prestigious competition. Additionally, Bumrah’s successor in the World Cup roster will be announced soon by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
