Pakistan Cricket Team currently is flying high on confidence. The Men in Green surprised everyone by winning the Tri Series featuring New Zealand and Bangladesh. Babar Azam would be mightily pleased that the team is peaking at the right time which is a dangerous sign for the other teams as once again Pakistan is looking ominous

The biggest positive of this Tri Series was Mohammad Nawaz. The left-handed batter played two blinders in the tournament and now he has made a strong case for himself at the No.4 position. The peculiarity of Nawaz is that he can easily change the dynamics of the match in one over.

Babar Azam on Middle Order

Babar Azam was seen in the world cup pre-match press conference and was asked about the middle order. “The middle order has stepped up in the last two matches. When you get such performances right before the World Cup, you gain a lot of confidence as a team, and I believe our middle order will perform. We are backing them. The way Ifti [Iftikhar] and especially Nawaz, and before that Shadab [Khan] played, the middle order is chipping in. And these are good signs for us before the World Cup,” said Babar.

Crucial T20 World Cup for Pakistan

Pakistan in the last edition was knocked out in the semi-finals. They were one of the dominant teams in the tournament and that loss would still hurt them. Head Coach Saqlain Mushtaq would be aware that this time no reasons would be entertained; because the team has got ample match practice.

Babar and Rizwan’s method of old-school batting is doing wonders for the team. But at the same time, the middle-order batters are not prepared for a collapse. We have seen in past Pakistan’s inability to play short balls as in Australia there is always a steep bounce. The batters need to be calculative in their approach as going bang-bang won’t be a feasible option.
