ICC T20 World Cup 2022: "Mohammed Shami Seems A Good Replacement For Jasprit Bumrah"- Sachin Tendulkar

Indian Cricket Team won a warm-up match against Australia by 6 runs. The Men in Blue got ample match practice in the middle. Skipper Rohit Sharma surprisingly gave only one over to Mohammed Shami that too the 20th one. He had only 11 runs to defend where the bowler got 3 wickets and gave away only 4 runs.

India would be thrilled after winning such a tight contest. India has shown that it can thrive on Australian pitches too. This victory will keep them in good stead ahead of the much anticipated India vs Pakistan clash.

Sachin Tendulkar on Mohammed Shami

Sachin Tendulkar was seen having an interaction with PTI and was asked about Mohammed Shami. “Bumrah not being there is a big loss and we obviously needed a strike bowler. An out and out genuine fast bowler, who could attack batters and get wickets. Shami has proven that and he seems a good replacement.” said Tendulkar.

Shami can be the X factor for Team India as he has good control over his line and length. He is someone who can be effective in the power-play overs too. Most importantly, he has played in Australia in the 2015 Cricket World Cup where his experience could prove to be invaluable. He can fox the batter quite easily which makes him a dangerous bowler.

It would be interesting to see what role he would be given. The management would be keenly observing him as he has the knack of taking 3-4 wickets in the match. Head Coach Rahul Dravid and Skipper Rohit Sharma would be thrilled as they got back their champion bowler.
