ICC T20 World Cup 2022: "Pakistan Over Dependent On Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan": Sanjay Bangar On The Upcoming T20 World Cup Clash

Pakistan Cricket Team is still finding a proper middle order who can provide stability in the middle overs. In the recently concluded Asia Cup 2022 and England Series; Pakistan batters were finding it tough to score runs. The 2009 T20 World Cup Champions need to make some tough calls and stick to a combination.

Skipper Babar Azam & Wicket Keeper Mohammad Rizwan alone won’t win ICC T20 World Cup 2022. There is no doubt that the batters are world-class players but they also need support from the rest of the batters. The Men in Green have a habit of being unpredictable but in the last couple of series, they are not performing to their credentials.

Sanjay Bangar On Babar Azam & Mohammad Rizwan

Sanjay Bangar was having an interaction with Star Sports and was asked about Babar Azam and Rizwan. “I feel, in the batting department, it’s clear that Pakistan is over-dependent on their top order like Babar and Rizwan. Whereas the Indian team is not actually dependent on a couple of players. There are four or five match winners and they are in their prime form, so, from a batting perspective I feel the Indian team is in a better position,”  said Bangar.

Conundrum for Management

The management would be in a state of dilemma whether to try new players or stick to the current ones as their batters haven’t shown intent. The problem with Pakistan is that they easily fall like a pack of cards due to which all of their hard work gets ruined. The batting coach Yousuf needs to have some intense sessions with batters and make them ready for all types of situations.

Head Coach Saqlain Mushtaq & Skipper Babar Azam need to eke out a plan as winning in Australia won’t be easy by any means. It looks like the burden of Captaincy has affected Babar Azam’s form as the batter looks a bit scratchy. Men in Green don’t need to complicate things because in doing that they are trying too hard.
