Pakistan Cricket Team had a terrible start to their campaign. The team had heart-breaking defeats against India and Zimbabwe. They now have a slim chance of making it to the semi-finals. Shaheen Afridi, the speedster has looked a bit rusty as the pacer has found it a bit difficult to make a comeback after a long injury lay-off.

The Men in Green will rue the fact that they were not able to wrap up the matches after being in a dominant position. Pakistan has missed a fast-bowling all-rounder who can provide some lusty blows at the back end of the match and provide a couple of overs too.

Ravi Shastri On Shaheen Afridi

Former Head Coach Ravi Shastri was seen interacting with Star Sports and was asked about Shaheen Afridi.

“One thing is clear to me, that he is hurting. In the sense of hurting, I mean physically. I don’t think he is fully fit. He has been brought back a little too early. So the expectations are a little bit too much on him,” said Shastri.

“This is a World Cup. So the pressure is on him, he wants to play. The country wants him to play, and selectors want him to play.

“But he is gonna take it slowly. He is gonna get into the rhythm as the tournament progresses. I see him taking a big break after the tournament is over,” he added.

Pakistan In Deep Trouble

The Men in Green no longer has their fate in their hand. Pakistan will have to find a way to sort out its middle-order woes. It would be interesting to see how India vs South Africa Match as that match would decide their fate as a victory for South Africa would mean that they are virtually out of the tournament.

Shaheen Afridi was expected to rip off the batting lineup. The pacer hasn’t been able to bowl impeccable lines and lengths. Former Pakistan Cricketers have raised their voices and stated that the pacer has been hurried to International Cricket as there was no ample match practice before the tournament.
