ICC T20 World Cup 2022: "This Is Not My Personal Team": Javed Miandad's Straightforward Reply To Pakistan's Middle-Order Issues Ahead Of The Marquee Event

Former Pakistan captain and batting legend Javed Miandad’s reaction was strong as he discussed Pakistan’s middle-order issues in the shortest format of the game.
Pakistan is currently playing England in a seven-match T20I series, which is now tied at 2-2 after four games.
In the fourth T20I, Pakistan defeated England by a razor-thin margin of three runs thanks to their potent pace attack, which claimed nine wickets throughout the English innings. Even though Pakistan managed to keep the series tied in Karachi, their team management is still quite concerned about the middle-order inconsistency.
When Pakistan batted first, Mohammad Rizwan’s 88 proved to be crucial, while skipper Babar Azam added a crucial 36 as they combined for a 97-run stand for the first wicket. After Babar was out, their middle order put up a dismal showing, with Shan Masood (21 off 19 balls) and Khushil Shah (2) failing to make an impact at the third and fourth positions, respectively. With two sixes in three balls, Asif Ali did guarantee an amazing finish.
We have such a big population, and there’s a lot of competition: Javed Miandad
Their middle-order failure has been a cause of worry for many months, and former Pakistan skipper and batting icon Javed Miandad had a pretty direct reaction to the team’s fourth T20I victory.
“If I give a player 2-3 innings and he doesn’t perform, I will replace him,” Javed Miandad told reporters as he talked about the middle-order in a video posted by Sports Paktv.
“You are playing for Pakistan. This is not my personal team. We have such a big population, and there’s a lot of competition,” the former Pakistan captain further stated.
Miandad also issued a warning to Pakistan. “These guys must understand that they must perform in every encounter.” “Your team will not progress if you do not perform,” Javed Miandad said.
The opening match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 between Pakistan and India will begin at 7:00 p.m. (IST) on October 23 at Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne.
