Expectations on the Indian cricket team have increased immensely after winning the first two matches of the Super 12 stage of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. Team India finally suffered their first defeat in the mega tournament against the Temba Bavuma-led team.

South Africa beat India by 5 wickets in the third Super 12 match of the ongoing World Cup at the Optus Stadium in Perth on Sunday, October 30. South Africa surpassed India to take the top position in the Group 1 table, and Pakistan’s hopes of making the semifinals were destroyed. India, on the other hand, missed out on a chance to secure an all-important semifinal berth.

The Men in Blue, who opted to bat first, managed to score 133 runs for the loss of 9 wickets, with Suryakumar Yadav scored 68 runs off 40 balls with 6 fours and 3 sixes at an impressive strike rate of 170, while other batsmen struggled to score. David Miller and Aiden Markram scored fifties for the Proteas, and they chased down the target with two balls to spare.

Suryakumar Yadav’s stocks have risen dramatically since he made his debut for India last year. Many consider the middle-order batsman to be the “finest batter in the world” in the shortest format of cricket. Surya has received praise from fans not only in India but also from across the border.

Speaking on A Sports, Pakistan cricket legend Wasim Akram discussed how Suryakumar uses pace and bounce from the bowler to execute scoop and lap shots to perfection.

Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram said “SKY is something different, isn’t he? These are the kind of shots youngsters should learn.”

The Rohit Sharma-led team will take on Bangladesh at the Adelaide Oval on Wednesday, November 2. India will be aiming to beat the Shakib Al Hasan-led side and move to the top of the points table. The weather forecast for Wednesday is a bit gloomy with rain.
