Star India National Cricket Team middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav has labelled India’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 semi-final defeat against England National Cricket Team as a “hurtful loss”.
The Rohit Sharma-led India National Cricket Team lost by 10 wickets against Jos Buttler-led England National Cricket Team in the second semi-final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday, November 10.

Losing the toss and batting first, India posted 168/6 on the board with the help of Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli’s half-centuries.
However, the total was not at all enough, as the England openers – Alex Hales and Jos Buttler – annihilated the Indian bowlers and chased down the target in 16 overs.
The failure of the Indian team in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 semi-final is the latest in their growing list of disappointments in the knockout matches. After India’s World Cup campaign ended, many cricket pundits suggested that several senior players could retire from the shortest international format of the game.
We will reflect and come back stronger – Suryakumar Yadav
The 32-year-old Suryakumar Yadav, who is the No.1 ranked T20I batter, took to social media platforms to share his first reaction after India’s World Cup exit. He stated:
“Hurtful loss. So close, yet so far. Grateful to our fans who create electrifying atmosphere, no matter where in the world we are. Thankful and proud of the unending support for each other and the hard work put in by this team and support staff. Proud to play for my country. We will reflect and come back stronger.”
Suryakumar Yadav was one of the very few positives for India in their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 campaign as he played his natural fearless game against each and every opposition and smashed brilliant runs.
In 6 innings, Suryakumar smashed 239 runs at an amazing average of 59.75 and an exceptional strike rate of 189.68. He finished as the third-highest run-getter in the multi-nation tournament.
