IND vs PAK: "Jasprit Bumrah's Injury Before World Cup Affects The Whole Plan" - Roger Binny

Roger Binny, the 1983 World Cup winner has been elected as the 36th BCCI President. He was elected unopposed for the post. The flamboyant all-rounder was part of the selection panel in 2012. It is expected that he may change the face of Indian Cricket as a lot of ICC tournaments are line up.

Indian Cricket Team has an arduous task ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. They are without their star bowler Jasprit Bumrah who could have been effective in Australian conditions. His absence creates a huge hole in the bowling lineup as he is someone who can surprise the batter with his tricky variations.

Roger Binny the BCCI President was asked about what would be on his agenda. “As the BCCI president, I want to primarily focus on 2 things. First is the prevention of injuries to the players.

“Jasprit Bumrah got injured just before the World Cup, which affects the whole plan. Second, I want to focus on the pitches in the country,” said Binny.

Crucial T20 World Cup for India

Former BCCI President Sourav Ganguly would be hoping that the team displays a better performance this time. The team has started to peak and if we go with their warm-up match against Australia, the team is looking ominous. The Men in Blue would be eyeing revenge against Pakistan for their 2021 T20 World Cup defeat.

Head Coach Rahul Dravid and Skipper Rohit Sharma should avoid any experimentation at this time; as a couple of losses can end their tournament.

It would be interesting to see whether India continues their fearless approach in the T20 World Cup as it can prove to be risky in a short tournament. The billion people would be hoping that the team performs according to their credentials.
