It was at that point, though, that the former England captain clarified the situation on Twitter by denying making the statement and urging people not to ruin a fantastic cricket match.
“Probably best if you can delete this, please .. it’s fake news and a fake quote and definitely not what a great game of cricket like todays deserves !! Thanks,” tweeted Nasser Hussain.
Rohit Sharma chose to bowl first after winning the toss in the India vs. Pakistan game. In 20 overs, Pakistan was limited to 159/8.
India was 31/4 in the seventh over while chasing 160, but Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya piled up 113 runs for the fifth wicket before Mohammad Nawaz bowled Hardik, who had hit 40 runs.
But Kohli managed to direct the pursuit in the last over, giving India a thrilling victory.
