Former India National Cricket Team opening batsman Gautam Gambhir has sent an important message to Team India, saying that the match against Pakistan National Cricket Team is not the “destination” instead “it is just a step towards the destination”.

Rohit Sharma-led India National Cricket Team are all set to go head-to-head with Babar Azam-led Pakistan National Cricket Team in the 16th match of the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022. The World Cup-winning batter Gautam Gambhir, who is working as a pundit for the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, speaking on Star Sports ahead of the match between Sri Lanka and Ireland on Sunday, said:

“Pakistan is not the destination, it is just a step towards the destination”.

Gautam Gambhir also said that the high-octane match between India and Pakistan is not going to be a one-sided game.

He reasoned: “I am not going to say it’s a one-sided game because Pakistan is a very strong bowling line-up. They probably have the best bowling line-up in this competition when it comes to seamers. They have got 3 quality pacers who can bowl 140-plus.”

The last time India and Pakistan went head-to-head in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup last year, the Virat Kohli-led Team India lost the match by 10 wickets against the Babar Azam-led Pakistan in UAE. The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 win of Team Pakistan was their first victory against Team India in a World Cup match.
