The warm-up match between India and Australia was played at the Gabba on Monday, October 17, while the warm-up match between Pakistan and England will also be played at the same ground.

During this match, the Indian fast bowler Mohammad Shami met Pakistan’s young fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi during a practice session at the Gabba in Brisbane, and the two talked about bowling. Shami shared his experience with Afridi. The Pakistan team is also watching the warm-up match between India and Australia.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official Twitter handle posted the pictures. PCB tweeted, “The @T20WorldCup stage #WeHaveWeWill | # T20WorldCup.”

Mohammed Shami arrived in Australia and started practising with Team India. His fitness after recovering from COVID-19 is a major concern for the team. He was a last-minute replacement for injured fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, who missed the World Cup due to a back injury. Shami has not played any matches for the last three months. In the warm-up match against Australia, the right-arm fast bowler bowled an excellent last over and took 3 wickets for just 4 runs.

On the other hand, Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Afridi also reached Australia after recovering from an injury. He hadn’t played any matches for almost 3 months. Pakistan will play against England in a warm-up match on Monday, October 17.

India will play two warm-up games before taking on arch-rivals Pakistan in their opening encounter of the World Cup at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne, on Sunday, October 23. The mother of all battles between the two teams will be renewed after last month’s Asia Cup thrillers. The Babar Azam-led team is evenly matched against the Rohit Sharma-led team.

India play Australia in their first warm-up game on Monday, followed by the match against New Zealand on Wednesday, October 19. Both games will be played at The Gabba, Brisbane.
