The second practice match against Western Australia was missed by India’s skipper Rohit Sharma on Thursday, although he still participated in the practice session. Rohit was seen taking a bold approach and slamming the bowler in a video that was posted on social media.

The Hitman hasn’t been playing in the greatest of ways recently for Team India in T20 Internationals, but he is motivated to pick up his game before the T20 World Cup 2022 starts.

Rohit Sharma Skips Batting In Warm-up Game, Instead Practices In Nets

In Team India’s warm-up match versus Western Australia, Rohit Sharma rather made an intriguing choice. The India captain opted to simply field during the game and skipped the hitting portion.

Instead, he gave the Western Australian bowlers the opportunity to be attacked by players like Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Deepak Hooda, Dinesh Karthik, etc.

Not just Rohit, but India’s legendary batsman Virat Kohli also made the decision not to bat in the game. In the opening game against the WACA XI, Kohli chose not to bat as well.

In the second game, both Kohli and Rohit chose not to test their mettle against Western Australian spinners, but were subsequently observed hitting some lusty strokes during a practise session. Fans on social media are particularly perplexed by this choice by the Indian management.

Despite KL Rahul making an incredible 74 runs in the second practice match against Western Australia, Team India lost by 36 runs. India will now play Australia and New Zealand on October 17 and October 19, respectively, in two T20 World Cup practice matches.

In all likelihood, the Indian team’s starting XI for the two games will include Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
