Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are two of the most prominent names in Indian cricket during the last decade. While Kohli has established himself as a modern-day legend, Rohit has also gained accolades.
However, since Kohli stood down as captain of the team, the two’s relationship has been under intense surveillance.
When India plays South Africa in their Group 2 Super 12 encounter in the current T20 World Cup in Australia, all eyes will be on Virat Kohli once more. With undefeated fifty scores against Pakistan and the Netherlands, Kohli has been in magnificent form thus far in the competition.
In the first game at the Melbourne Cricket Ground against Pakistan, the former India captain produced a match-winning 82 not out, and in the second game at the Sydney Cricket Ground, he hit an undefeated 62 against the Netherlands. Kohli has a number of goals in mind for the encounter between South Africa and India.
“We speak about how to win the big tournament”: Virat Kohli
When questioned about the equation with his skipper in a recent Star Sports interview, Virat Kohli responded, “We speak about how to win the big tournament. Additionally, it fosters an exciting environment.”
“We’ve always had the same idea and vision of the game. He continued, “As of now it’s all about back-and-forth dialogue that is all free-flowing and pointing towards the ultimate goal which is to win the tournament. To make India win and fill all the loopholes.”
India will face South Africa in their third Super 12 matchup in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022. In the competition so far, each of these teams has played a few games.
India defeated the Netherlands by 56 runs in the second game after edging out their bitter rivals Pakistan in the opening contest by a sharp margin. They presently sit atop the Super 12 stage table after winning two games in a row and will be returning to the field to attempt to complete a hat-trick of victories.
