Former Pakistan National Cricket Team premier pacer Mohammad Amir has said that the star India National Cricket Team batter Virat Kohli is in a league of his own and can’t be compared to any other batter.

Virat Kohli, who is finally back to his best after struggling for a long period of time, has played a key role in India’s back-to-back victories against Pakistan and Netherlands in the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022.

In the high-octane India-Pakistan ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 clash at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, the Men In Blue were reduced to 31/4 while chasing 160. However, Kohli smashed remarkable 82 runs off 53 balls, including 6 fours and 4 sixes, to help Team India seal a 4-wicket win.

In a video shared by ICA Sports, Mohammad Amir said that Kohli is the greatest batter of this era. He also praised Kohli’s temperament, mindset and work ethic.

“I’ve told this in many interviews, why do I say Virat Kohli is my favourite? He is the best in this era. He just cannot be compared! It’s because I have bowled to him as well and the level of temperament, the mindset he carries towards the game, his work ethics, and the way he handles the pressure, I don’t think in this time any batsman can handle this sort of pressure as he did,” the left-arm pacer said.

Amir further spoke about Kohli’s sensational 82-run knock against Pakistan in the World Cup and said it was one of his best T20 innings of all time.

“People begin comparing him with different batsmen. He just does not have any comparisons. And yes, this has been one of his best innings in T20 (82* against Pakistan) and he has said it himself. Out of nowhere, he just took the game away from Pakistan. And this is the recognition of a big player, people say he wasn’t in form, but a big player is that who steps up in high-pressure situations and what Virat did, only he could have done!” added Amir.
