Bangladesh Cricket Team suffered a heart-wrenching loss against India. The Men in Blue won the match by 5 runs and almost knocked Bangladesh out of the tournament. The team would be mightily pleased with the form of KL Rahul as the batter smashed a half-century and was looking in great touch.

Bangladesh would be utterly disappointed with the team’s performance. They had required 85 runs to win in 9 overs where they had 10 wickets in hand. Litton Das was in sublime form as he scored 60 runs in 27 balls and just at the crucial stage of the match, he was run out by KL Rahul.

Sunil Gavaskar on KL Rahul

Sunil Gavaskar was having an interaction with India Today and was asked about KL Rahul. “It was a magical moment. Because remember, the fact that he had to come around and then, instead of hitting, he could have taken the easier option and thrown towards the wicketkeeper’s end because that was the direction he was running towards his left.” said Sunil Gavaskar.

“But then to stop and turn, and hit towards the bowler’s end took a lot of presence of mind. He might have seen through the corner of his eyes that Liton Das had slipped a little bit, stuttered a little bit for the second run, and realised that was the end that was more profitable than the batting end.” he added.

Invincible India

The Men in Blue had a tough task on their hands as defending 85 runs in 9 overs was easy.  The team showed great character and it won’t be wrong to say that Arshdeep Singh has become a vital cog. He was quite immaculate in his line and length and wasn’t giving any ample room to the batters.

India would be well aware of the Zimbabwe clash. They had pulled off a miraculous victory against Pakistan. Zimbabwe would be hoping to end the tournament by upsetting India as once again they would be banking on the all-rounder Sikandar Raza to excel.
