England’s Cricket Team won a riveting encounter against Pakistan and got crowned as the new T20 World Champions. Sam Curran, the dashing all-rounder played out of his skin as he was not only the player of the match but also the player of the tournament for his 13 wickets in the tourney.
England showed a lot of grit and determination throughout the tournament as defeating Pakistan was not easy. The Men in Green almost pulled off a heist and would rue the fact that they were quite average while batting. The team managed to score a below-par 137 runs due to which they were always behind the 8th ball.
Sam Curran on IPL
Sam Curran was asked about IPL and he made some interesting comments on it. “I loved my time there. Learnt a lot from these guys. It is fantastic learning from guys who played in these tournaments and big occasions. I am always trying to keep learning and improving. Who knows, hopefully, I will be back in IPL. “It was good pitch, challenged both and batters, We are happy with the win.” said Curran.
Sam Curran Invaluable
Sam Curran was not guaranteed a place in the squad as England had a lot of players waiting in the dug-out. The all-rounder showed great control over line and length and it won’t be wrong to say that England has found a gem of a player who can bowl in all the phases of the match. The peculiarity of Sam Curran is that he is quite disciplined in his approach as he hardly gives any freebies.
Skipper Jos Buttler didn’t look as if he was captaining for the first time in the ICC event. He was the bowler’s mind as he didn’t panic even after losing against Ireland. England showed to the World Cricket why their brand of Cricket is sustainable and fruitful and it looks like this is the start of the England Era as winning 2 Titles in a span of 3 years is quite remarkable in the modern era.
