Pakistan suffered an embarrassing defeat against Zimbabwe in the Super-12 stages of the T20 World Cup. Former India spinner Pragyan Ojha explains what led to Pakistan’s demise and India’s rise in the 2022 World Cup.
Pakistan lost their second consecutive game in the Super-12 stage, ultimately sending them home from the T20 World Cup early. The Babar Azam-led team is having a terrible season down under, having lost back-to-back games against India and Zimbabwe from winning positions.

India had previously encountered a similar misfortune in the 2021 edition of the competition, where they had dropped their opening two games against Pakistan and New Zealand. Pragyan Ojha, a former spinner for India, has studied the growth and fall of these two teams and has attempted to explain what India did to alter their course.

“Sunny sir stated that Pakistan is a good side, but the problem is the middle order and whether or not they answered the questions before entering this World Cup.” “I believe you have to answer all of the questions before entering a tournament like this, and that’s where you see these questions lingering,” Pragyan Ojha said on India Today.
“Pakistan is still trying to build itself up”: Pragyan Ojha
Former spinner Pragyan Ojha revisited the 2019 ODI World Cup and chose a particular instance.
“The Indian squad struggled to find a solution to the question of who should be the team’s number 4 batter in 2019, therefore India put in a lot of effort in that area. And what does a champion team do? It responds to queries that they believe they are not qualified to answer” Pragyan Ojha said.

“While Pakistan is still working to develop itself, India has made strides in that area. The psychological strain from the defeat to India may have affected the match against Zimbabwe,” Ojha said in his conclusion.
India will be up against South Africa in their third T20 World Cup encounter on Sunday in Perth.
