Three games will be played across Group 2 on October 27. Bangladesh plays South Africa in Sydney followed by India and Netherlands also in Sydney. Pakistan and Zimbabwe play each other in Perth to round off the days for the day.
Pakistan skipper Babar Azam spoke after the defeat against India. In a team talk, he egged on his teammates to move forward in the campaign and forger the match against India. In his post-match comments after the game, he lauded Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya for taking India to a win after being 31/4 in 6.1 overs.
“Our bowlers bowled really well. All credit to Kohli and Pandya. It wasn’t easy with the new ball. We had partnerships after 10 overs. We had a chance. We tried to stick to our plans. But credit to Virat Kohli. In the middle we decided we wanted a wicket and held the spinner back. We had a lot of positives” said Babar.
Zimbabwe’s first game against South Africa was interrupted by rain repeatedly and in the end, points were shared between the two teams. Had it been a full game, Zimbabwe would have lost the game against their African counterparts. They need to come up with a far better performance against Pakistan who has the wood over them in T20Is.
