England will face Pakistan in the final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday, November 13, and both teams will hope to become the second team after the West Indies to win two T20 World Cup titles. The Jos Buttler-led side reached the final with a 10-wicket win over India in the second semi-final at the Adelaide Oval, as they chased down the target in just 16 overs without losing a wicket.
England’s aggressive opening pair Jos Buttler and Alex Hales hammered the bowling attack around the park, adding 170 runs for the first wicket and never allowing India to get back into the game. Jos Buttler led the team from the front, scoring an unbeaten 80 runs from 49 balls, while his opening partner Alex Hales made 86 runs from 47 balls.

England’s captain, Jos Buttler said that the emphatic way they destroyed India to reach the Twenty20 World Cup final on Sunday “doesn’t matter for anything” as they try to become winners in both white-ball formats.
“Any time you get a chance to play in a World Cup final is a huge honour. We’re really excited as a group, there’s a nice feel around the team. The previous performance (against India) gives us a lot of confidence, but it doesn’t count for anything,” he said.
“Tomorrow we start a fresh game against a really tough opposition and any time you are fighting for a trophy you know it isn’t going to come easy. So we will focus on them a little bit and on us a lot and what we need to do to prepare well today to turn up tomorrow and do the best we can,” he added.
Pakistan hosted a seven-match T20I series against England in September and October in preparation for the ICC T20 World Cup. The Moeen Ali-led team won the T20I series against Babar Azam’s team by 4-3.
