The 15-person team for Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), which will compete in the forthcoming T20 World Cup in Australia in October-November, was unveiled on Thursday.
Shoaib Malik continued to be missing even though Shaheen Afridi, who was forced to miss the Asia Cup owing to a knee injury, rejoined the team. The squad includes pacers Afridi, Mohammad Hasnain, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf, and Mohammad Wasim Jr.

Mohammad Amir Unhappy With Pakistan Team Selection For World Cup
The decision, though, didn’t sit well with Mohammad Amir, one of Pakistan’s best former bowlers. Despite having resigned from international cricket in December 2020, the left-arm fast bowler stated a month later that he would be ready for Pakistan whenever the current administration departed the team. Amir hasn’t yet returned to the Pakistan side since.

After the T20 World Cup roster was revealed, Amir expressed his disapproval on his official Twitter account. “chief selector ki cheap selection,” Amir wrote, taking a dig at Muhammad Wasim.
chief slector ki cheap selection ?

But most Pakistani fans weren’t very pleased with Amir’s tweet:
In the past I’ve found myself justifying Amir’s outrage and eating up stories of perceived injustices against him. Similar to what I used to do for Umar Akmal
we’ve learned with both these cases that when you’re consistently disrespecting the game and management, u r the problem https://t.co/AsPI6XdgQd

This is how Pakistani National Player reacted. He was once famous for in-swing bowling. Now he is showing his real class.
Rahul Dravid, Sehwag, Ganguly & Kumble .. several players lost their place BUT never reacted like this. https://t.co/d6eXlAOZJn

I don’t think Amir understands that if he stayed silent he’d go down as a Pakistani GOAT.
We’ve won three ICC titles, he was instrumental in two of them. Keeps hurting his own legacy. https://t.co/VVjFR5IO5J

Fakhar Zaman Misses T20 World Cup Squad After Knee Injury
In the meantime, opening batsman Fakhar Zaman was also left off the T20 World Cup roster after hurting his knee while playing defence in the Asia Cup final against Sri Lanka last Sunday. However, Fakhar has been listed as one of the three backups.
Khushdil Shah, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Asif Ali made formed the middle order that the selectors stuck with despite Sri Lanka defeating them by 23 runs in the Asia Cup final.

“We have won nine out of our last 13 T20s,” Wasim said. “We have invested in these cricketers and it is fair to them that they get the opportunity to show their mettle in the World Cup, an event for which they have been preparing and training hard.”
After Fakhar and Afridi were ruled out owing to injury, two elite players from domestic cricket, all-rounder Aamir Jamal and mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed, were included in the side for the home series against England.
In the T20 World Cup, Pakistan is paired with Bangladesh, South Africa, India, and two qualifiers. On October 23 in Melbourne, the first game is Pakistan vs. India.
