Pakistan National Cricket Team pace spearhead Shaheen Shah Afridi looked at his best in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 summit clash and he castled in-form England National Cricket Team opening batsman Alex Hales in the very first over of the second innings of the match.

The blockbuster final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 is being played between the Three Lions and the Men In Green at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Sunday, November 13.

Losing the toss and batting first, Pakistan didn’t perform very well and they only managed to post 137/8 on the board. Shan Masood and Babar Azam were the top-2 performers for the Men In Green in the batting department. Masood scored 38 runs off 28 balls and Babar scored 32 runs off 28 balls.

Star left-arm seamer Shaheen Shah Afridi, who is known for troubling the openers of the opposition with the new ball, bowled five good deliveries to the in-form England openers – Jos Buttler and Hales – who are also two of the nine players nominated for the Player of the Tournament.

On the last ball of the over, Afridi bowled an outstanding inswinger to castle Hales. Afridi bowled a good-length 133kmph delivery to Hales, who was expecting a full-length delivery. The ball swung into the stumps, Alex Hales got stuck and he couldn’t get the bat down in time. The ball missed the bat, deflected off the pad, and shattered the stumps.

The 33-year-old Hales, who scored only 1-run off 2 balls in the final, had smashed 211 runs in five matches at a strike rate of 148.59, including two half-centuries, before the summit clash.
