Watch: Virat Kohli Almost Breaks Down In Tears After Powering India To Epic Win Against Pakistan

Even Virat Kohli could not control his emotions after powering India to an unbelievable win over arch-rivals Pakistan in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2022. The Men in Blue were looking destined for a disappointing loss after making a poor start with the bat.

Kohli, however, had other ideas as he almost singlehandedly powered India to a win. Chasing 160, India were off to a disastrous start as they lost KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav for just 26 runs inside the powerplay. Kohli and Hardik Pandya then steadied the ship. They mixed caution with aggression to keep India in hunt.

But with the required run-rate increasing with each passing ball, the match was slipping away from India before Kohli decided to take matter in his own hands. With 31 runs needed off last two overs, Haris Rauf started the 19th over on a solid note, conceding just 3 singles on the first 4 balls.

And just when it looked like the match had slipped away from India, Kohli smashed Rauf for two sixes to bring down the equation to 16 runs from the last over. The last over ended on a poor note too for India as Pandya was dismissed by Nawaz. On the next two balls, Karthik and Kohli managed a single and a double respectively.

With 13 runs needed off the last 3 balls, Kohli smashed another six off a no ball to bring down the equation to 6 off 3 balls. In the end, India crossed the finishing line on the last ball to start their campaign with a morale-boosting win.

Virat Kohli gets emotional:

Following the thrilling win, Virat Kohli could not contain his emotions and nearly broke down into tears. After celebrating the win with a huge roar, he got down on one knee and punched the ground in delight. His teammates then mobbed him before the cameras focused on Kohli who was almost in tears. He was also seen pointing his fingers towards the sky.
