India batter Virat Kohli starred with the bat as Men in Blue defeated Pakistan in their opening encounter in ICC T20 World Cup 2022 match which was played on October 23 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in front of over 93,000 fans.

In the 19th over, bowled by Haris Rauf, India started with 31 runs needed in the last 12 balls. Rauf gave away just 3 runs in his first four balls and Kohli knew he had to hit some sixes to bring the required runs to a manageable amount for the last over.

Babar had put faith in Rauf and he had delivered knowing Mohammad Nawaz would bowl the last over. However, Kohli started off with a brilliant six straight over the bowler’s head off a length ball that bounced to stump height.

Kohli just twirled a bit and managed to give the ball enough elevation to send it over the boundary. He then hit a flick on the leg side on the last ball to hit another six.
