Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis, two former Pakistani cricketers, came under fire from online users for making offensive remarks about racism and dementia while discussing a T20 World Cup 2022 match between Scotland and the West Indies that just ended.

The former Pakistani bowlers Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis sought to make highly crude comments by speculating that the Scottish players could have Alzheimer’s or dementia after they were observed holding a piece of paper during the game against the West Indies.

In one of the episodes of The Pavillion, numerous ex-cricketers from Pakistan were seen debating the distinctive tactics used by the Scottish players, who were frequently seen consulting a piece of paper before carrying out a plan. Waqar Younis added, “It is probable that they have an issue with Alzheimer’s or dementia,” when speaking about the same.

When the former Pakistani bowler Wasim Akram made this remark, the other participants in the conversation started to giggle.

The most successful team in the T20 World Cup, the West Indies, suddenly looked like a shell of their former selves and crumbled for 118 runs in 18.3 overs as the Scots skillfully defended the score.

In order to still be in the running for the Super 12 stage, West Indies must defeat Zimbabwe in their upcoming encounter on Wednesday. However, to advance to the Super 12 stage, the Richie Berrington-led team must defeat European rivals Ireland.
