Pakistan

Pakistan made their first T20 World Cup appearance in 2007 and went into the finals where India handed them a loss to win the inaugural season of the World Cup.

Appearing in 8 editions of the T20 World Cup, one of the underdog yet the strongest team of the format became the semi-finalists in 2010, 2012, 2021 and 2022 where it lost to Australia, Sri Lanka, Australia and New Zealand respectively. The most successful edition for Pakistan was of 2009, where it defeated Sri Lanka and became the Champions.

Still, with the current arsenal of talented youngsters and seasoned veterans, Pakistan team remains a tough competitor for other teams in the format.

Now, in the 9th edition of the tournament, Pakistan’s Captain Babar Azam eyes the World Cup for yet another time and looking at the Pakistan ICC T20 World Cup team, it looks strong as a contender to win the cup.
