India failed to make it through the semis after finishing with six points, one behind West Indies in the league stage of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2022. India had to win the match anyhow to qualify for the knockout stage.

India’s elimination also means it was their skipper Mithali Raj’s last game in the Indian jersey at the international stage. Earlier in the match, Mithali scored 68 off 84 balls to push India’s score to 274/7 in the first innings. The Indian stalwart hit eight boundaries during her incredible innings batting at a strike rate of 80.95.
