Bangladesh National Cricket Team are hosting Sri Lanka National Cricket Team in the second game of the two-match series. The game between the two teams kickstarted on Saturday (30th March) at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.

Sri Lanka were extremely brilliant with the bat on Day 2 of the ongoing second Test against Bangladesh at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. They have put themselves in the commanding position and with the way things have panned out, it promises to be an exciting finish.

Continuing with the overnight night score of314/4, veteran Dinesh Chandimal and skipper Dhananjaya de Silva made sure that they put pressure on the Bangladesh bowlers right from the start. They continued from where they left off last night and batted brilliantly in the morning session.

Dhananjaya de Silva and Dinesh Chandimal added 86 runs together making sure Sri Lanka took control of the game. With the way they batted, both deserved the century but fell early. While the skipper scored 70 runs, Chandimal perished for 59 runs.

After the duo got out, Kamindu Mendis stole the limelight with his magnificent show with the bat. The batter, who slammed twin centuries in the first game, made sure that he continued his good form in the second game and played another blinder for his team batting in the lower-middle order.

Kamindu Mendis would’ve been gutted with the way for not getting the support from the other end. He was left stranded at 92 runs as he fell short of partners and Sri Lanka’s innings ended. Prabath Jayasuriya (28) supported him well but after that, he couldn’t stitch partnerships.

Vishwa Fernando (11), Lahiru Kumara (6), and Asitha Fernando bagged low scores. Kamindu Mendis was left unbeaten at 92 runs as Sri Lanka’s innings ended with 531 runs on the board in the first innings at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.

For Bangladesh, Shakib Al Hasan, who made a comeback, was the pick of the bowlers as he returned with the figures of 3/110. Apart from him, Hasan Mahmud picked two wickets whereas Khaled Ahmed and Mehidy Hasan Miraz chipped in with one wicket each.

Bangladesh started their innings on a positive note in response to Sri Lanka’s 531. Openers Mahmud Hasan Joy and Zakir Hasan looked positive with the bat and made sure that they gave their team a good start, in what is the series decider at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.

The duo added 47 runs for the opening stand before Mahmud Hasan Joy perished for 21 runs. Lahiru Kumara removed him and made sure that he draws the first blood for his team during the fag end of the Day 2 of the ongoing second Test against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team.

At Stumps on Day 2, the Bangladesh National Cricket Team were at 55/1. Zakir Hasan was batting at 28 runs off 39 balls whereas Taijul Islam batted 9 balls and is yet to open the account. They would be keen to take their team off to a good start on Day 3 of the game.
