KL Rahul has been in top form since returning from his injury in Asia Cup 2023. Rahul scored a brilliant century against Pakistan in the Super 4s of the Asia Cup and was also handy behind the wickets. No doubt that KL Rahul has shown a lot of improvement and the team has a lot of expectations from him. In the IND Vs AUS ODI Series, we saw him leading the side to a series win and showcasing his captaincy skills alongside batting and wicket-keeping.

Since being back from injury, KL Rahul has not missed or rested for a single match and has been handling both the roles of a wicketkeeper and a middle-order batter. He also took the responsibility of leading the side in the absence of Rohit Sharma. He is in thick action and is not taking any breaks after missing out on the move for nearly 5 months due to his injury.

Mark Waugh was keen enough to ask KL Rahul about his Workload. As we have witnessed KL Rahul performing multiple roles in the team since returning and during the first ODI between India and Australia, the conditions were extreme in Mohali. “What about the workload personally, you’ve got to keep wickets, you have got to bat at the top of the order or No.4 in these conditions. I felt sorry for you in Mohali. I just don’t know how you do it. Is it hard to cope with all that in the heat?” asked Waugh.

KL Rahul Thought Mohali Would Be Easier Than Colombo

“It has been really challenging physically. The weather and conditions in Colombo were what we thought would be the worst we could get but then we turned up in Mohali… I said this after that game as well, I said in the huddle ‘We’ve come from Colombo, this can’t be worse.’ It is Mohali, it must be pleasant. Three overs later, when Mitch Marsh got out everybody looked at each other and said skip, you’ve made the worst decision by opting to bat. It is a good challenge that we get used to it because we will have similar conditions to deal with in the World Cup,” he said.

KL Rahul has been in red-hot form since returning from his injury, he has scored 2 half-centuries and a century and has also been keeping wickets. With the World Cup approaching, it is a healthy sign for the Indian team and KL Rahul brings a lot of stability to the middle order with the batter being flexible in batting in any position.
