Mohammed Siraj bowled a magnificent spell with the new ball to bowl out the Sri Lankan team for just 50 runs in the Asia Cup 2023 final in Colombo. The right-arm pacer completed his five-wicket haul in just 16 balls, finishing his bowling with figures of 6/21 in seven overs.

Mohammed Siraj was named the Player of the Match for his incredible performance in the final on Sunday, September 17. He registered the best bowling figures in ODIs against Sri Lanka, surpassing Waqar Younis’s impressive 6/26, which he achieved in 1990.
Mohammed Siraj Become No. 1 ODI Bowler
Following his impressive performances, Mohammed Siraj attained the No. 1 spot in the latest ICC Men’s ODI Bowlers Rankings on Wednesday, September 20. The 29-year-old made significant strides in the bowling charts, leaping from No. 9 to the top of the rankings.
The Hyderabad-born cricketer will be seen in action during the upcoming three-match ODI series against Australia at home. The series will be the final outing for him in international cricket ahead of the much-awaited ODI World Cup 2023, which is set to begin on October 5.
Chief selector Ajit Agarkar named two different squads for the three ODI matches. wicketkeeper batter KL Rahul will lead the team in the first two games in the absence of regular skipper Rohit Sharma. Siraj has been part of the squad for all three games in the series.
