The 34-year-old Australia National Cricket Team all-rounder Glenn Maxwell failed to perform with the bat in the dead rubber third ODI against India National Cricket Team as he scored just 5 runs off 7 balls, before being dismissed by Jasprit Bumrah’s stunning yorker.

However, in the second innings, Maxwell brought out his best with the ball. He chipped in with regular wickets to put Australia in a dominant position in the match at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot on Wednesday, September 27.

Maxwell opened his account by breaking the 74-run opening partnership between Rohit Sharma and Washington Sundar by dismissing the latter. He then dismissed Rohit Sharma to break his 70-run stand with Virat Kohli and just after a few overs he also cleaned up Virat Kohli.

Glenn Maxwell Bags 4th Wicket After Dismissing Shreyas Iyer

Glenn Maxwell wasn’t done after picking up a three-wicket haul as he then bagged his fourth wicket in the 39th over. On the second ball of the 39th over, Shreyas Iyer smoked him for a brilliant six over wide long-on.

The Aussie star was quick to take his revenge as he cleaned up Iyer on the very next ball. The off-spinner bowled a good length ball on off-stump and the batter played for the turn. The ball went past his outside edge and crashed into the off-stump. Maxwell was pumped up after taking the wicket and he roared in celebration.

Earlier, Australia won the toss and posted a mammoth total of 352/7 on the board. The top four batters of the Australian line-up showcased sheer class and registered brilliant half-centuries. Mitchell Marsh (96) and David Warner (56) built a good opening partnership and then Steve Smith (74) and Marnus Labuschagne (72) batted very well to help Australia reach a good total.
