It was a Jasprit Bumrah show in the second IND vs ENG Test match held at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam. Bumrah bagged a total of 9 wickets in the whole match and was also adjudged the Player of the Match for his performance. The right-handed pacer also became the fastest Indian pacer to complete 150 Test wickets and achieved the feat in his 34th Test match.

The Indian cricket team selectors are yet to announce the team for the rest three matches of the Test series. As per Cricbuzz, it is reported that Jasprit Bumrah shall be rested for the third match in Rajkot. Bumrah bowled a total of 32 overs in the whole match and provided the team with a breakthrough whenever it was needed.

Jasprit Bumrah to be rested for third IND vs ENG Test: Reports

As per the report, the selectors believe that his winning effort in the match might have depleted Jasprit Bumrah‘s energy due to which he shall be rested for the third Test match in Rajkot. In the Hyderabad Test, Bumrah bowled a total of 25 overs, and seeing at his injury-prone career, the selectors are willing to give him some good rest.

The Indian cricket team management is dealing with the fast bowlers by using the rotational policy. Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj was excluded from the second Test match and now it looks like, the same will happen with Jasprit Bumrah in the third Test match.

It would not have been easy for England to chase down 399. Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley, who opened the innings, put up 50 runs for the first wicket, giving England a strong start. Crawley played an innings of seventy-three runs and scored another half-century, while Duckett was out for twenty-three. But none of the other English batsmen remained at the crease long after he was removed, and they were all bowled out by Indian bowlers. Even though Ben Foakes and Tom Hartley put up a strong fight, adding more than 50 runs for the eighth wicket, the Indian team ultimately proved to be too strong for the English rear end.

With the five-match series levelled up at 1-1, the Indian cricket team moved to the second spot in the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 standings after winning the second Test match. The Rohit Sharma-led side would want to continue the winning momentum in the third Test match all set to begin from February 15 at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot.

Despite the win in the second Test match, everything is not eight in the Indian camp. The Indian team is struggling with their middle and lower order. The batsmen are not able to score runs with their full potential and the absence of Virat Kohli and KL Rahul is also a major reason behind it.

Also, the form of Shreyas Iyer, is a matter of concern for the team and if he is not included in the team for the third Test, Sarfaraz Khan shall replace him if Virat Kohli or KL Rahul do not return for the last three Test matches as well.
