Jasprit Bumrah shares cryptic Instagram story after scripting history in ICC rankings

Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah has shared a cryptic story on his Instagram account after scripting history in ICC rankings. After his marvelous bowling show against England in IND vs ENG 2nd Test in Vizag, Jasprit Bumrah has moved to the top spot in the ICC rankings for bowlers in Tests.
Notably, Jasprit Bumrah has become the first-ever bowler to clinch the peak position in ICC rankings across all three formats in his career. In the past, only three batters have ruled ICC rankings across all formats.
Former Australia batters Matthew Hayden and Ricky Ponting; and Indian stalwart Virat Kohli are the only other players who have topped ICC rankings across all three formats in the past. After Jasprit Bumrah’s iconic triumph, fans congratulated the Indian pacer from around the world. They also hailed the right-arm pacer on social media.

Just after reaching the top spot in the ICC rankings, Jasprit Bumrah shared a cryptic story on his Instagram account. With his story, the Indian pacer has highlighted the hippocracy of fans after his achievement.
Bumrah shared a photo of an empty and crowded stadium. He noted how everyone vanished when he needed support and how fans are backing him after the triumph. Have a look at his story below.

Notably, Jasprit Bumrah was out of the field due to a severe back injury for almost a year. Due to the back surgery, he missed action from September 2022 to August 2023. During that period, he missed crucial tournaments like the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, Asia Cup 2022, and the ICC World Test Championship 2023 final.

He was also in and out of the squad due to a back injury ahead of his ouster. Many fans had criticized and mocked him during that period. Some also targeted him as his absence affected Team India’s performance in those prominent tournaments.
However, the 31-year-old made a strong comeback to the field post his injury. He returned to the field in August last year and led the team to a 2-0 victory against Ireland. Later, he also gave a stunning show in Asia Cup 2023 and ICC ODI World Cup 2023.

Jasprit Bumrah has bagged 15 wickets in IND vs ENG series
In the ongoing IND vs ENG Test series, Jasprit Bumrah has shown an impeccable performance. In India vs England 2nd Test, he won the Player of the Match award for scalping 9 wickets in the match. In this 1st innings, he hunted a 6-wicket haul to set the platform for the team’s victory.
In the 1st Test too, he hunted 6 scalps including a 4-wicket haul in one innings. Bumrah has dominated England batters with his pace attack and bagged breakthroughs in crucial moments. In just 2 Tests, the Indian speedster has captured 15 wickets in his kitty at an impressive average of 10.67.
