New Team India without Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah? Sanjay Manjrekar's stunning revelation
India sealed the five-match Test series against England by taking an unassailable lead of 3-1 in the series. India won the fourth Test against England by five wickets which was played at the Jharkhand State Cricket Association Stadium in Ranchi.
Former Cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has lauded the young brigade of the squad for showing some traditional Test quality. Youngsters like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel, and Sarfaraz Khan have impressed everyone in this Test series.
England won the toss and elected to bat first in Ranchi where they scored 353 in the first innings laying back on a terrific century from Joe Root who remained unbeaten on 122 off 274 balls. He was back to his natural game which paid off and he smashed his 31st Test century and his 10th against India.
The Indian team replied with 307 on the board as Dhruv Jurel smashed 90 off 149 balls and Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 73 off 117 deliveries. England crumbled for 145 in the 2nd innings as Kuldeep Yadav and Ravichandran Ashwin wreaked havoc.
The hosts chased the 192-run target with five wickets to spare and won the Test match to seal the series with a 3-1 lead. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill both scored a half-century while chasing 192.
Dhruv Jurel was unbeaten in the second innings on 39 and for his performance, he received the Player of the Match award. Ben Stokes and company never lost a Test series before this and their unbeaten streak has been ended by a young and rather inexperienced Indian side.
Sanjay Manjrekar praised the young brigade for showing traditional Test cricket qualities. He tweeted, ???One of the proudest moments for Indian cricket. The young brigade shows traditional Test cricket qualities like guts, good defensive technique, patience & ability to stay calm under pressure. Well done Team India, well done New India!???

Youngsters like Dhruv Jurel and Yashasvi Jaiswal have been impressive in the series. While Jaiswal has been the top scorer with 655 runs in this series, Dhruv Jurel has been brilliant with both the bat and the gloves in the series. Dhruv Juel won the Player of The Match award in just his second Test match. Apart from these two, Sarfaraz Khan also impressed on his debut in Rajkot even though his performance with the bat in Ranchi was not good.
India won their 17th consecutive Test series at home by beating England in Ranchi. The two teams will now face each other at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala for the fifth Test match of the series that will commence on March 7, Thursday. The fifth Test is a dead rubber for the series but a win can ensure a better PCT for the hosts in the WTC points table and they would be aiming to win the fifth Test against England.
