Rohit Sharma on the verge of a world record, only needs 7 sixes to achieve the feat

India and England are facing each other for the fourth Test match of the five-match series at the Jharkhand State Cricket Association Stadium in Ranchi. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma lost the toss and Ben Stokes decided to bat first after losing two consecutive matches.

The team batting first has won all the matches in this series as England won the first Test in Hyderabad by 28 runs and India won back-to-back matches in Vizag ( 106 runs) and Rajkot (434 runs).

Rohit Sharma is on the cusp of becoming the first-ever cricketer to achieve a unique feat in the ongoing fourth Test match against England. Rohit Sharma has the record of hitting the most sixes in international cricket, standing at 593 sixes after playing 470 matches in his international career.

He only needs seven sixes to become the first cricketer in the world to complete 600 sixes in international cricket. Rohit Sharma is leading the Indian team in the ongoing Test series against England and India is ahead by 2-1.

Rohit Sharma made his international debut in 2006 and in his 18-year-old career, he has smoked 80 sixes in Test cricket, 323 sixes in ODIs, and 190 sixes in T20Is.

He is followed by Chris Gayle on the list who has smashed 553 sixes and these two are the only players currently with more than 500 sixes to their name in international cricket. Shahid Afridi is third on the list with 476 sixes across 524 international matches.

The Indian skipper has made a name for himself as a six-hitter and has performed brilliantly in all formats for India. Rohit Sharma is also on the verge of breaking Virender Sehwag’s record and needs only 12 sixes to do that.

Virender Sehwag is another batter who loves to deal in boundaries and holds the record of hitting the most number of sixes for India in Test cricket with 91 sixes to his name in the longest format.

Rohit Sharma to break Virender Sehwag’s record

Rohit Sharma has 80 sixes to his name in Test cricket which is the second-highest number by an Indian. He only needs 12 sixes to break Sehwag’s record and become the Indian cricketer with the most sixes in Test cricket.

Rohit Sharma has the third most sixes in ODI cricket and the most number of sixes in T20Is and he is just 10 sixes away from becoming the first cricketer in history to smash 200 sixes in T20Is. He has a terrific six-hitting ability and has a god-gifted timing that helps him clear the ropes with ease.

India and England are facing each other in the five-match Test series and the fourth Test is going on in Ranchi. Rohit Sharma is leading the Indian team and is currently ahead in the series 2-1 and is aiming to seal the series by winning this Test.
