Rohit Sharma keeps garnering attention not only for his exploits with the bat but also for his hilarious comments and on-field behavior. Every now and then, the India captain comes up with a comment or does something on the field in his usual nonchalant manner that leaves the fans in splits.

He did something similar on the field on day one of the ongoing fifth Test between India and England at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala. There is absolutely no denying that he has led the team from the very front in the ongoing series. India had their back against the wall after losing the first Test. The absence of some key players only made things worse for the hosts.

However, the Rohit Sharma-led side bounced back brilliantly and won the following three Tests to clinch the series with a match to go. And while Rohit Sharma has led the team from the front, he took it to another level by coming up with a never-seen-before action on the field.

While captains usually tell the players where to stand on the field, the Indian captain decided to go to the position himself and adjust the position by looking at the batsman before asking the fielder to take that position. He did it with Sarfaraz Khan for the short-leg position as well as for Yashasvi Jaiswal for the slip position.

Rohit Sharma on his hilarious on-field comments:

Rohit Sharma was recently asked about his humorous on-field comments. In response, the star batsman said that he does not come up with those comments intentionally while also pointing out that his comments get recorded by the stump mic because of his position on the field.

“I don’t have any favourite line as such and I don’t do this intentionally. Since I am the captain, I stand in the slips as the angles from the slips tell you where the fielder should be placed.

“About the DRS system and calls, you get to know while standing in the slips. That’s why I am in the slips, and you keep talking in that position. I talk with the wicketkeeper and fielders at the short-leg and silly point and that gets recorded,” Rohit Sharma said.
