The Indian team is currently facing the Ben Stokes-led side in Visakhapatnam. The home team posted a total of 396 runs in 112 overs after winning the toss. Young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal played a crucial role in the first innings by scoring a magnificent double-century.

During the 26th over of England’s first innings on day two, India’s skipper Rohit Sharma engaged in a lighthearted moment with on-field umpire Marais Erasmus. Sharma sought assistance from Erasmus for a review call, adding a touch of humor to the ongoing match.
Jasprit Bumrah delivered a yorker that struck Jonny Bairstow on his pads, prompting an appeal. Wicketkeeper KS Bharat and Bumrah weren’t confident enough to challenge the decision. Rohit Sharma asked umpire Erasmus for his opinion before the DRS time elapsed.

Jasprit Bumrah Running Through England Middle Order
England made a strong start, with Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett scoring briskly. However, Kuldeep Yadav ended their 59-run partnership by dismissing Duckett for 21 runs. Shreyas Iyer took a sensational catch to dismiss Crawley, who had scored 76 runs off 78 balls.
Jasprit Bumrah exhibited skillful seam movement, challenging Joe Root with deliveries swinging both ways. Root played a tentative stroke, edging the ball to Shubman Gill, who was stationed at first slip. Root had to walk back to the dressing room after adding five runs.
Bumrah clean-bowled a well-set England vice captain, Ollie Pope, with a yorker on the fifth ball of the 28th over. Pope, who was the Player of the Match in the previous Test, scored 23 runs off 54 balls. The indian pacer’s two wickets pushed England from 123/2 to 136/4.
It Was A Very Special Moment – Shoaib Bashir
England off-spinner Shoaib Bashir expressed his delight at capturing Indian captain Rohit Sharma as his first Test wicket on the opening day of the match. Bashir extended gratitude to God and his family for their support throughout his cricket journey.
“If you were to tell me that two years ago, I would laugh. It was a very special moment receiving my Test cap and for me to get Rohit Sharma as my first wicket was very, very special,” Bashir said.
“He’s a great player of spin as well. I’m just so grateful to God and my family. They’ve supported me through thick and thin. I had a lot of ups and downs in my journey, so I just want to thank them as well,” he added.
Rohit Sharma scored 14 runs from 41 deliveries in India’s first session. The Indian skipper adopted an overly cautious approach, failing to register any boundaries. He attempted a defensive shot against Shoaib Bashir but edged it straight into the hands of Ollie Pope.
