Zak Crawley was given out LBW by Kumar Dharamsena in the second innings of the third Test between India and England which is being played at the Niranjan Shah Cricket Stadium in Rajkot. Jasprit Bumrah bowled a sharp nip backer on the stumps which was missed by Crawley as he attempted to defend the ball. The ball hit the back leg and umpire Dharamsena thought about it for long and raised his finger.

The opener instantly opted for the DRS. However, the English opener was fuming at Kumar Dharamsena as the DRS showed the ball clipping the top of the stumps and the umpire’s call stood. Zak Crawley went back shaking his head and saying something to umpire Kumar Dharamsena. England has already lost both the openers and just lost Ollie Pope and Jonny Bairstow.

Zak Crawley had a similar dismissal in the second Test where he was declared LBW off Kuldeep Yadav’s delivery. The ball looked like it would miss the leg stumps when seen through the naked eye but the DRS showed that it was hitting the stumps and Crawley had to depart. England skipper Ben Stokes talked about the dismissal after the Test match drawing a lot of attention and now in the third Test, he is again the victim of an umpire’s call decision that did not go his way.

Zak Crawley was unhappy with umpire Kumar Dharamsena after he gave him out and had some exchange of words with the veteran umpire. Kumar Dharamsena is one of the most experienced umpires and he has a great record of making correct decisions first-hand. Zak Crawley departed after scoring 11 in the second innings after being declared LBW off Jasprit Bumrah’s delivery.

India has given a mammoth target of 557 for England to chase and the visitors have already lost four wickets early on with Ben Stokes and Joe Root currently at the crease for England. Yashasvi Jaiswal was the star for India with the bat in the second innings as he scored a brilliant double century smashing 14 fours and 12 sixes for his unbeaten 214 off 236 deliveries.

Yashasvi Jaiswal was duly supported by Shubman Gill (91) and Sarfaraz Khan (68*) to power India to 430 and take a massive lead of 556 runs. This was the second double hundred for Jaiswal in consecutive Tests and he has been magnificent in the series. The decision of Zak Crawley’s dismissal may be a bit debatable and it will be a topic of discussion for the English camp after the match.

India is looking strong to win the third Test and take the lead in the series which is currently levelled 1-1. The first Test was a defeat for India by 28 runs in Hyderabad but they made a comeback in Vizag and won the second Test by 106 runs. India has not lost a Test series at home since 2012 and they are looking to maintain their unbeaten run by defeating England in the ongoing five-match Test series and take their consecutive Test series win streak to 17.
