India Playing 11 for Ireland T20Is, Team List, Captain. India and Ireland are set to wrestle with each other in a T20I series. IND vs IRE T20I series will observe three encounters. The three T20I games are scheduled to take place on August 18, 20, and 23. During India’s tour of Ireland in 2023, only three T20I games will be played.
Jasprit Bumrah is the skipper of Team India in the IND vs IRE T20I series. Paul Stirling is the captain of Ireland. Many key Indian players are not part of Indian squad. Some youngsters and even debutants are part of the India squad for the T20I series against Ireland. Here we form the strongest India playing XI for Ireland T20Is.
India Playing 11 for Ireland T20Is, Team List, Captain
Yashasvi Jaiswal
Yashasvi Jaiswal should be the opener for India in the T20I series against Ireland. The left-handed batter showcased a marvelous form in the recent IND vs WI series. As an opener, the 21-year-old shattered a century in Tests and a match-winning knock of 84 runs in one T20I game out of three.
Ruturaj Gaikwad
Ruturaj Gaikwad should be the other opener for India. The right-handed batsman showed superb form in IPL 2023 for Chennai Super Kings. The 26-year-old has played 9 T20I games so far.
He slammed a fifty in one match but struggled in other games. Gaikwad and Jaiswal will provide a left-right combination at the opening slot.
Tilak Varma
Tilak Varma should be the one-down batter for India in IND vs IRE T20I series. The left-handed batter showed brilliant form in his debut series against West Indies recently. With 173 runs in 5 encounters, he was the leading wicket-taker for the team at a strike rate of 146+.
Shivam Dube
Shivam Dube might bat in the middle order. Dube gave an incredible performance for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2023. The left-handed batter also featured in 13 T20Is for India so far.
In 9 innings, the 30-year-old slammed 105 runs with 3 unbeaten knocks. He scored a good knock of 54 runs in one innings. Dube can also lend a hand in bowling
Sanju Samson (WK)
Sanju Samson should take the wicketkeeper’s slot in Ireland T20Is. Samson recently made a comeback to the national team in India vs West Indies series. The right-handed batter showed good form in ODIs with 1 fifty across 2 games.
However, the wicketkeeper batter could not replicate his magic in the T20I series. Samson is an experienced wicketkeeper for India and has played many games over the last 2 years.
Rinku Singh
For the lower order, Rinku Singh should be added to India’s playing XI for the T20I series against Ireland. The left-handed batsman showed superb form for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2023.
The uncapped Indian player finished as the leading run-getter for the team with more than 450 runs in 14 games. The middle-order batter also shattered 4 half-centuries. His hard-hitting batting style will be valuable in T20Is against Ireland.
Washington Sundar
For all-rounder, Washington Sundar should get a spot in the Indian team during the Ireland series. Sundar could not come up with a good show in IPL 2023 for his team Sunrisers Hyderabad. However, the right-arm spinner is an experienced player in T20Is with 35 games to his name.
The left-handed batsman accounts for 29 wickets and 107 runs across 14 matches. India will need some experienced players in the playing XI and Sundar will be one of them.
Ravi Bishnoi
Ravi Bishnoi is the only full-time spinner that India has picked in IND vs IRE T20I series. The right-arm spinner was part of recent India vs West Indies T20I series. Bishnoi has held a superb form in T20i so far.
In 11 encounters, he accounts for 16 scalps at an economy of 7.15. Against Ireland, Bishnoi will lead the spin attack for India.
Jasprit Bumrah (C)
Jasprit Bumrah is the Indian captain in India vs Ireland T20I series. The right-arm pacer will lead the team and guide the pace attack against Ireland. Bumrah last played in September 2022 and has made a comeback after almost a year. After taking the field, Bumrah will aim to showcase his complete strength on the field.
Arshdeep Singh
Arshdeep Singh gave a superb performance in the recent T20I series against West Indies. With 7 wickets in 5 games, the left-arm pacer was the top wicket-taker for the team in the series. The 24-year-old has held a superb form in T20Is for India so far, hunting 48 scalps in 31 encounters at an economy of 8.52.
Mukesh Kumar
Mukesh Kumar played for India in the recent series against West Indies. The right-arm pacer should be inducted into the playing XI in the T20I series against Ireland too. Avesh Khan has returned to the field after a long gap. Prasidh Krishna has no experience in T20Is.
Hence, Mukesh Kumar will be a better option as a pacer as he represented India in recent times. The 30-year-old hunted 4 wickets in 3 ODIs and 3 wickets in 5 T20Is against the Caribbean side.
