IND vs BAN: Cheteshwar Pujara Becomes The 8th Indian To Reach The Milestone Of 7000 Test Runs

During the second day of the ongoing second Test between India and Bangladesh in Dhaka, star Indian Test batsman Cheteshwar Pujara became one of the greatest Indian batsmen ever.

In red-ball cricket, the 34-year-old right-handed batsman who bats at No. 3 for India became the eighth Indian player to surpass 7,000 runs in Test matches. He reached the landmark in the 97th Test’s 166th inning.

Cheteshwar Pujara, who made 90 and an unbeaten 102 in the first Test last week in Chattogram, needed just 16 runs to reach the milestone of 7000 runs in Test matches. On Friday, December 23, he did so during the first session of the second day of play.

He is the eighth Indian batsman in red-ball games to reach 7,000 runs. Former captain and famous opening batsman Sunil Gavaskar was the first Indian player to reach the milestone, and after him, players like Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman, Virender Sehwag, Virat Kohli, and Sourav Ganguly also joined the club.

Cheteshwar Pujara joins Sachin Tendulkar and Dravid in a special club:

Pujara needed three runs to reach the milestone of 700 Test runs on the fifth ball of the 19th over. The 34-year-old seasoned ace is one of India’s most reliable players and needs 98 Test matches to accumulate the number of runs. In doing so, he becomes a member of the exclusive club alongside people like Sachin Tendulkar and fellow coach Rahul Dravid.

Pujara has struck 19 hundred and 34 fifties in 167 innings throughout the course of 98 Test matches. In the Test format. One of the three times he has hit a Test double century was against England in Ahmedabad in November 2012, when he amassed an unbeaten 206.
