The Twitterverse was ecstatic after 22-year-old Jammu and Kashmir Pace bowler Umran Malik was named to the India National Cricket Team’s playing XI for the second ODI of the three-match series against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team.

After a painful one-wicket loss to Bangladesh in the first ODI on Sunday in Mirpur, Team India will try to rebound (December 4). If Rohit Sharma’s team wants to stay in this three-match ODI series against Bangladesh, they must win this game. After losing the most recent ODI series to New Zealand 1-0 last month, India would be anxious to avoid losing two straight.

Kuldeep Sen, an Indian bowler, was unavailable for selection for the second One-Day International against Bangladesh at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur because of a stiff back. India’s starting lineup against the hosts features Umran Malik in replacement of Kuldeep.

Notably, Umran Malik, who has the ability to bowl the deliveries consistently at over 150kmph, had a breakthrough season in IPL 2022 as he bagged 22 wickets in 14 games.

During the Toss, Rohit remarked, “We have to play good cricket and I hope bowling first now, we can restrict them to a decent score and bat well. We have two changes. Axar Patel is back and he replaces Shahbaz Ahmed. Kuldeep Sen is not available for selection, so we have got Umran Malik in place of him.”

“Going back to the drawing board and understanding how we need to play on these conditions, just the basic talk about what we need to do with the bat and how to handle certain bowlers. Had a good training session yesterday, and hopefully, we can come out and replicate those learnings” Rohit Sharma Added.

Here’s How Twitter Reacted To Umran Malik’s selection In The Playing XI vs Bangladesh:

The last time the two teams squared off in an ODI series, MS Dhoni’s Indian team fell short 1-2, winning just the final dead rubber. With all-rounder Shakib al Hasan in good form, Litton Kumar Das will lead Bangladesh in hopes of repeating that win.
