Indian Cricket Team’s dashing batter Suryakumar Yadav has been on a roll. The right-handed batter has changed the dynamics of batting with his 360-degree brand of batting. The batter was given a rest during the Bangladesh ODI Series in order to manage the workload.

The specialty of Suryakumar Yadav is that he doesn’t allow any bowler to settle. Former Indian Head Coach Ravi Shastri believes that the batter would be a force to reckon with in Test Arena too. It would be interesting to see whether he gets an opportunity in the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023.

Suryakumar Yadav on Test Cricket

Suryakumar Yadav was having an interaction with the media and was asked about Test Cricket.

“Yes, obviously, I have always dreamt of playing Tests for India as well. When you start playing cricket for your state, you start with the red ball. Gradually you get into the white ball team. I feel that this is the best format of the game, and I really enjoy playing it,” said Suryakumar Yadav.

“When I started playing age group cricket and the Ranji Trophy, I played red ball cricket only. At the start of my career, I earned slowly recognition through red ball cricket. My white ball exploits came later. The red ball format is very close to my heart. I really enjoy playing it,” he added.

Interesting Series on Cards

It won’t be wrong to say that Suryakumar Yadav could be the X factor against the Australian attack in February 2023. Suryakumar Yadav has amassed 5326 runs from 77 matches averaging 44.01 and a strike rate of 62.28 including a double century, 14 centuries, and 26 half-centuries in first-class cricket. The batter has got all the shots in the book where he can dismantle the opponent with his striking ability.

Head Coach Rahul Dravid & Skipper Rohit Sharma would be wary of the fact that Australia would be keen to win their first series after 2004. The way Aussies are playing, we can expect a riveting contest. If Suryakumar Yadav gets a chance then it would be interesting to see who gets the axe.
